Event Description:
In accordance with the provisions of Section 23 of the Charter of the City of Gardner and Section 17 of Chapter 43 of the General Laws, Oaths of Office will be administered to the Mayor-elect, Councillors-elect, and School Committee Members-elect, on Monday, January 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the City Council Chamber. ORDER OF EVENTS I. Call of the Roll of Officials-elect II. Certificate of Election III. Administration of Oaths of Office IV. Adjournment Note: In the event that the Mayor and/or any Councillor-elect is unable to attend Monday’s “official” Inaugural, the “official” Oath of Office will be administered at the opening of Tuesday evening’s Regular City Council meeting, as prescribed by the City Charter. In the event that any School Committee Member-elect is unable to attend, the Oath of Office may be “officially administered” at Tuesday’s Ceremonial Inaugural or at any time thereafter.
