POSITION TITLE: Sheeter Assistant 
 
Job Summary
Perform various manual and mechanical duties to handle sheeted finished product. Duties include: preparing shipping cartons, sealing cartons, loading pallets, making label stencils, and other similar duties; primarily those pertaining to handling sheeted products.
 
Duties require verbal communications ability, visual acuity to written/printed material, and the physical ability to lift various weights.
 
Essential Job Functions
1. Provide support for both sheeter packaging lines. Prepare carton material for finished product: obtain required quantities of carton tops and bottoms from pre-staged stock; fold and staple carton tops and bottoms; stage cartons adjacent to packers. Read job sheet and make carton stencils and have approved. Stencil cartons as specified. Place carton tops onto filled cartons and move from conveyor to banding machine, and band carton. Place sealed cartons onto adjacent pallet in designated quantities and according to specification. Obtain required approvals for completed pallets and transport to shipping area.
 
2. Participate in changeovers on the sheeters. As directed, assist in shafting cores, installing rolls, rough aligning rolls, etc.
 
3. Remove waste materials from collection bins at sheeters and rewinders as workload allows. Weigh waste material and record information as required. Place scrap/waste materials into baler and make bale.
 
4. Follow all established safety rules and regulations and utilize required safety equipment. Report defective equipment or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
 
Perform other similar duties as required or as requested by supervisor.
